Climate action measures
Lenzing goes all the way for Climate NeutralLenzing has set its sights on net-zero emissions by 2050 – we are committed to meeting targets set by the Science Based Targets initiative. Our three-step plan is already in progress: reduce, engage, and offset. Our TENCEL™ True Carbon Zero and VEOCEL™ Climate Care campaigns are a combined journey to carbon neutrality.
Reduce Carbon EmissionsOur commitment and priority are to reduce carbon emissions using more efficient production, new technologies, and renewable energy sources. These efforts have resulted in a family of TENCEL™ fibers for textile products and VEOCEL™ fibers for everyday care products. These fibers are certified to reduce climate impact by various global standards of sustainability, contributing to decarbonization and care for our planet.
Engage and Lead Our IndustryWe are the first cellulosic fiber producer to commit to the Science Based Targets initiative and offer carbon neutral fibers to both woven and nonwoven products to our industry.
We also engage with and lead our industry to change by normalizing data transparency and working with brands that echo our values – implementing carbon neutral practices from cradle to cradle.

Offset through Eco InvestingUntil we reduce the carbon emissions across our full footprint, we take responsibility for our carbon emissions that are not yet avoidable through investing in verified climate protection projects.
These projects include investments in India — boosting climate action with Indian wind power in Satara; clean electricity and support for local communities in Gujarat; environmentally friendly cooking with the help of biogas in Punjab — and commitments to bamboo for deforestation-free projects in San Jose, Nicaragua.
